The cipher’s name is withheld — working out which it is comes first
Need a nudge?
One of this week's ciphers — working out which is part of the puzzle.
The answer
ONE HUNT EVERY MONTH
How it works
A review day — the cipher's name was withheld, so step one was working out which of the week's techniques was in play. Each letter has become a mark. Nothing is scrambled and nothing is shifted: find the key to the symbols and you can read it straight off. This one is Dancing Men. Sherlock Holmes solved this one by counting which figure appears most. A figure holding a flag ends a word. Match the first three marks against the key and they resolve to O N E. The answer was ONE HUNT EVERY MONTH.
